    1. Open the Start Menu

Click the Windows button in the bottom-left corner of your screen (it looks like four small squares). This opens the Start Menu.

    2. Open Settings

In the Start Menu, click the gear icon that says "Settings" (or press Windows key + I on your keyboard).

    3. Click "Windows Update"

In Settings, look in the left sidebar and click "Windows Update." If you don't see a sidebar, look for "Update & Security."

    4. Click "Check for updates"

Click the blue "Check for updates" button. Windows will search for any available updates.

    5. Install any available updates

If updates are found, click "Download & Install." Your computer may need to restart to finish installing. Save any work before restarting.

Tip: You can choose "Schedule restart" to install updates at a time that's convenient for you.

Important: Don't turn off your computer while updates are installing. It could cause problems.
