Purchase and unbox the Circle Home Plus device

    ~21s
The Circle Home Plus is available on the Circle website and at major retailers like Best Buy and Amazon. In the box you will find the Circle device itself, a power adapter, and a short ethernet cable. Download the Circle app on your smartphone before you begin — search "Circle Parental Controls" in the App Store or Google Play.
    2

    Connect Circle to your router

    ~30s
Plug one end of the ethernet cable into the Circle device and the other end into an open port on your Wi-Fi router. Then plug the Circle power adapter into a wall outlet. The Circle device's light will flash while it starts up. Open the Circle app and tap "Set Up Circle" — the app will find the device automatically within a minute or two.

    Warning

If your router is inside a closed cabinet or tight space, Circle may have trouble connecting to your Wi-Fi. Place it where there is good airflow and signal strength.

    3

    Create family member profiles

    ~24s
In the Circle app, tap the "Family" tab and then "Add Member." Give each person a name and choose their age group — Kid, Teen, Adult, or Custom. Circle uses the age group to suggest appropriate content filter settings. You can adjust these settings manually after creating the profile.

    Quick Tip

Quick Tip: Create a profile for yourself too. You can apply more relaxed settings to adult profiles while keeping stricter filters for children.

    4

    Assign devices to each profile

    ~16s
Tap on a family member's profile and then select "Assign Devices." Circle will show you a list of all devices currently connected to your Wi-Fi. Tap each device that belongs to that person. Devices like shared computers can be left unassigned or assigned to a shared profile.
    5

Set content filters, time limits, and bedtime

    ~29s
Inside each profile, you can tap "Filter" to block categories of websites, tap "Time Limits" to set daily usage caps for specific apps, and tap "Bedtime" to schedule when the internet turns off at night. Changes take effect immediately. You can adjust any setting at any time from the Circle app on your phone.

    Quick Tip

Quick Tip: The "Pause" button on the home screen of the Circle app lets you cut off internet access for the whole house in one tap — handy during meals or family time.

Circle Home Plus is a small device that plugs into your home Wi-Fi router and gives you control over every gadget connected to your network. That includes smartphones, tablets, laptops, gaming consoles, smart TVs, and even smart speakers. Because it works at the network level, there is no app to install on every device — Circle sees all internet traffic passing through your router and can block or limit it based on rules you set.

With Circle, you can create profiles for each family member and apply different settings to each one. For younger children, you can block entire categories of websites such as adult content, social media, or gaming. For teenagers, you might allow social media but set a daily time limit. Circle also has a "Bedtime" feature that cuts off internet access at a scheduled time each night, which many parents find helpful for encouraging sleep.

The Circle app lets you pause the internet for a specific person or the whole household with a single tap — useful during dinner, homework time, or family activities. You can also see a history of what websites each device has visited, how much time was spent on different apps, and which devices are currently online.

Circle Home Plus costs about $129 upfront for the hardware, plus a $9.99 per month subscription for full parental control features. The device works with most home Wi-Fi routers and internet service providers. Setup takes 15 to 30 minutes and does not require advanced technical knowledge — the Circle app walks you through each step clearly.
