Google Forms is a free tool included with every Google account that lets you create online surveys, RSVP forms, sign-up sheets, polls, quizzes, and more. You design the form, share the link, and responses are collected automatically in a spreadsheet — no paper, no tallying, no emailing back and forth.
Forms are great for gathering information from groups: an RSVP for a family reunion, a potluck sign-up, a neighborhood poll, a committee survey, or a feedback form for a club or organization. Respondents do not need a Google account to fill out the form — they just click the link and answer.
Creating a form takes about 5 minutes for a simple survey. You add questions one by one, choosing from different formats: multiple choice (pick one answer), checkboxes (pick multiple), short text, paragraph, dropdown, date, or time.
After sharing the form, you can watch responses come in at any time by opening the form and clicking "Responses." Google automatically shows charts and summaries of multiple-choice questions, and lists all written answers. You can also export everything to a Google Sheets spreadsheet for more detailed analysis.
Forms are free for individuals with a Google account. There are no limits on the number of forms or responses for personal use.
