    Go to Have I Been Pwned

    Visit haveibeenpwned.com — this is the most trusted breach-checking tool, created by cybersecurity expert Troy Hunt. It is free and safe to use.

    Enter your email address

    Type your email address in the search box and click "pwned?" The site will check your email against 13+ billion breached records from over 700 known breaches.

    Review the results

    If your email was found in breaches, you will see a list of which ones. Each entry shows the company name, date, and what data was exposed (email, password, phone, etc.).

    Check your phone number too

    ~15s
    On the same site, you can also search your phone number (in international format, like +15551234567) to see if it appeared in breaches like the Facebook leak.

    Change passwords for breached accounts

    ~15s
    For each breached service listed, go directly to that website and change your password. Use a unique password for each account — never reuse passwords.

    Set up breach alerts

    Click "Notify me" on Have I Been Pwned to get an email alert if your address appears in future breaches. Mozilla Firefox Monitor (monitor.firefox.com) offers similar free alerts.
