    Open the Find My app

Find the Find My app on your iPhone. The icon is a green circle with a radar dot. If you do not see it, swipe down on your home screen and type Find My in the search bar.
    2

Tap People, then Share My Location

    ~15s
At the bottom of the screen, tap the People tab. Then tap the Share My Location button. Type the name of a family member from your contacts and tap Send.

    Choose how long to share

    ~15s
Pick Share for One Hour, Share Until End of Day, or Share Indefinitely. For a trip, Share Indefinitely works well. You can stop sharing any time by going back to the same screen.

Make a shared itinerary in Notes

    ~17s
Open the Notes app and tap the new note button. Type your trip details: flight numbers, departure and arrival times, hotel name and address, confirmation numbers. Then tap the share icon at the top right and choose Share Note. Pick the family members you want to include.

    Forward your flight confirmation emails

    ~15s
Open the Mail app, find the email from the airline, and tap the forward arrow at the bottom. Send it to your family member. When they open it, their iPhone will show a flight tracking card with the current status.

When you travel, family members often want to know where you are and when you will arrive. Calling each person to give them flight numbers and hotel details can be a hassle. Your iPhone has several built-in tools that make sharing your travel plans much smoother. You can share your live location so loved ones can see when you land, send your full itinerary in one tidy message, and even let family see your flight status in real time.

The Find My app, which comes free on every iPhone, lets you share your location with specific people. They will see a map showing where you are right now, and the location updates as you move. You decide who to share with and for how long. You can share for one hour, until the end of the day, or indefinitely. The person receiving it does not need any special app if they have an iPhone, and Apple has added a way for Android users to receive temporary location shares too.

For the actual itinerary, the easiest method is to take screenshots of your flight confirmations, hotel reservations, and rental car bookings, then send them all in one Messages thread. You can also use the Notes app to type up a clean summary with dates, times, addresses, and confirmation numbers. Notes can be shared with family members so everyone has the same up-to-date copy.

If you forward your flight confirmation email to your family, modern email apps will often turn it into a smart card showing the gate, terminal, and current status. This is a wonderful way to let an adult child or neighbor track your flight without you having to send updates yourself. Setting all this up before you leave takes about ten minutes and gives everyone peace of mind during your trip.
