The VA: Health and Benefits app is the official mobile app of the US Department of Veterans Affairs. It gives veterans a convenient way to manage VA healthcare and benefits from their phone — without calling the VA or visiting in person for many common tasks.
Here is what you can do in the app:
Healthcare
: View upcoming VA appointments, check in to your appointment from your phone (at participating facilities), refill prescriptions, view your health records and test results, and send secure messages to your care team.
Claims & Benefits
: Check the status of disability claims, appeals, and decision reviews. Download VA letters like the Benefit Summary Letter (used for proving disability status). Check your service history.
Payments
: View past and upcoming VA payments. Update your direct deposit information.
Military Records
: View your discharge papers (DD-214), service history, and related documents.
The app requires you to sign in with Login.gov, ID.me, or My HealtheVet credentials — the same login you use on va.gov. If you do not have one of these accounts, the app can help you create one.
The app is free on iPhone and Android from the official VA. It is one of the best government apps available — and one of the most useful for the millions of veterans using VA services.
