The Amazon Parent Dashboard is a free online tool that lets parents manage their child's Amazon Fire tablet from anywhere — a phone, computer, or another tablet. From the dashboard, you can see what your child has been reading, watching, and playing, set daily time limits, approve new content requests, and add or remove access to specific apps and books.
The Parent Dashboard works alongside Amazon Kids+ (formerly FreeTime Unlimited) and can also be used with any Fire tablet even without an active Kids+ subscription. When you set up a child profile on a Fire tablet, the Parent Dashboard automatically tracks activity and gives you controls over that profile.
One of the most useful features is the ability to set different time limits for different types of content. For example, you might allow unlimited reading time but cap video watching at one hour per day. You can also turn on "Educational Goals" — a feature that requires your child to spend a certain amount of time on educational content before entertainment time unlocks. This is a popular tool among parents who want to make sure learning happens before play.
The Parent Dashboard also allows children to send requests for new content. If your child wants a specific app or book that is not already in their profile, they can tap a request button and you will receive a notification on your phone. You can approve or decline the request without needing to be in the same room.
