Anker Warranty Confusion: What to Do When Your Device Won't Turn On

Anker sent a warranty expiration notice for a future date while the device is completely dead. Here's how to handle warranty claims for unresponsive electronics.

    1

Check your warranty dates and proof of purchase

    ~31s
If your Anker power bank will not turn on and you received a warranty expiration notice showing a future date, that notice is likely an error. Before contacting anyone, gather your proof of purchase — this could be an email receipt, a bank or credit card statement showing the charge, or a screenshot of your order from Amazon or wherever you bought it. Having this ready will speed things up.

    Quick Tip

Check your email for the original order confirmation. Search your inbox for "Anker" or check your Amazon order history if you bought it there.

    2

    Contact Anker support directly

    ~33s
Go to anker.com and look for their "Support" or "Contact Us" page, or email support@anker.com. Explain that your power bank is completely dead and will not turn on, and that the warranty expiration notice shows a date that has not passed yet. If they suggest a USB-C reset, let them know the device is unresponsive and cannot perform that step. Be polite but firm — a dead device within the warranty period should be replaced or refunded.

    Warning

Do not throw away the broken power bank until your warranty claim is fully resolved. The company may ask you to return it or send photos as proof.

    3

    Document the issue with photos

    ~19s
Take clear photos of the power bank from the front and back, showing the model number and any indicator lights (or lack of them). If the device has a screen, photograph it showing no response. Also screenshot the warranty expiration email showing the future date. These photos will strengthen your claim if the company pushes back.
    4

Use your credit card purchase protection if needed

    ~32s
If Anker will not honor the warranty, check whether you paid with a credit card. Many credit cards offer purchase protection that covers defective products — typically for 90 to 120 days after purchase, and some extend the manufacturer warranty by a year. Call the number on the back of your credit card and ask about filing a purchase protection or extended warranty claim. They will walk you through the process.

    Quick Tip

Visa, Mastercard, and American Express cards often include purchase protection at no extra cost. Check your card benefits online or call your card company to ask.
