Apple TV+ is Apple's subscription streaming service featuring exclusively original shows and movies. Unlike Netflix or Hulu, it does not license older content — everything on the platform was made by Apple Studios.
Apple TV+ costs $9.99 per month. When you buy a new iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple TV device, you often get a free three-month trial. The service is also included in the Apple One bundle, which combines multiple Apple subscriptions at a reduced price.
Notable Apple TV+ originals
include Ted Lasso (comedy, soccer team), Severance (thriller, office drama), The Morning Show (drama, journalism), Slow Horses (spy thriller), Shrinking (comedy, therapy), and Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (Godzilla spinoff). The library is smaller than Netflix but the shows are generally highly rated.
The Apple TV app
is available on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV devices, Samsung and LG smart TVs, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and some PlayStation and Xbox consoles. You do not need an Apple device to watch Apple TV+.
Apple TV+ allows up to six family members to share a subscription through Family Sharing. Your watch progress syncs across devices — start on your phone and continue on your TV.
Apple TV+ has a Children & Family section with shows like Fraggle Rock, Peanuts movies, and other family-friendly content. Parental controls let you restrict content by rating.
