Go to carrd.co and start building

    ~28s
Open your browser and go to carrd.co. Click "Build Your Own" or "Start For Free." You don't need to create an account yet. You can build your site first and sign up when you're ready to publish it. Browse the template categories (Profile, Portfolio, Landing Page, etc.) and click one to open it in the editor.

    Quick Tip

Quick Tip: The "Profile" templates are great for personal introduction pages. The "Landing Page" templates work well for business or product pages. Both styles are included in the free plan.

    2

Edit text and images in the template

    ~19s
Click on any text element to select it and type your own content. Click on images to replace them with your own photos. You can upload images from your computer or use a provided URL. Work through each section of the template from top to bottom, replacing all placeholder content with your own information.
    3

    Add or remove sections

    ~19s
To add a new section, click the plus (+) icon between existing sections or at the bottom of the page. Choose from section types: text, image, buttons, divider, container, form, and more. To remove a section you don't need, click it to select it and press the delete or backspace key, or use the section's context menu.
    4

    Add links and buttons

    ~28s
Add a Buttons section to include clickable links to your social media profiles, portfolio, email, or any website. In the Buttons section editor, add each button's label and the web address it links to. You can add icons from a built-in library to visually identify each button (for example, the Instagram or LinkedIn logo).

    Warning

Before publishing, test every link by previewing your site and clicking each button to make sure it goes to the right place. A broken link on your only page creates a poor impression for visitors.

    5

Create an account and publish your site

    ~32s
When your site looks ready, click the "Publish" button in the top right corner. Carrd will prompt you to create a free account with your email and a password. After creating your account, you'll choose a free web address (yourname.carrd.co) and click Publish to make your site live. Your site is right away accessible at that address.

    Quick Tip

Quick Tip: You can update your Carrd site anytime by logging back in to carrd.co and clicking on your site in your dashboard. Changes publish instantly when you click the Publish button again. There is no review process or delay.

Carrd is a website builder designed specifically for one-page websites. Instead of building a site with multiple pages and menus, you create a single, beautifully designed page that contains everything you want to share — your bio, your links, a contact form, your work samples, or any combination of those.

One-page sites are surprisingly effective for many purposes: a personal introduction page, a freelancer's portfolio, a musician's press page, a small business landing page, a resume alternative, or a "coming soon" page for something you're working on. If your goal is a clean, professional page that gets people to the point quickly, Carrd is excellent at that.

Carrd is free for up to three published sites. The free plan includes a good selection of templates and covers most basic needs. A paid "Pro" plan at $19 per year (not per month — per year) adds custom domains, form submissions, more templates, and the ability to publish more than three sites. At that price, the paid plan is exceptional value for what it offers.

Building a Carrd site requires no account to start. You can create a site and preview it before signing up. This is a great way to test the tool risk-free.

Templates are minimalist and modern. Carrd doesn't try to do everything. It focuses on doing one thing — a single page — very well. The editing experience is cleaner and faster than most full website builders. Most people have a finished, published site within 20 to 30 minutes of opening Carrd for the first time.

Carrd sites are mobile-responsive by default, meaning they look good on phone screens without any extra work from you.
