Carrd is a website builder designed specifically for one-page websites. Instead of building a site with multiple pages and menus, you create a single, beautifully designed page that contains everything you want to share — your bio, your links, a contact form, your work samples, or any combination of those.
One-page sites are surprisingly effective for many purposes: a personal introduction page, a freelancer's portfolio, a musician's press page, a small business landing page, a resume alternative, or a "coming soon" page for something you're working on. If your goal is a clean, professional page that gets people to the point quickly, Carrd is excellent at that.
Carrd is free for up to three published sites. The free plan includes a good selection of templates and covers most basic needs. A paid "Pro" plan at $19 per year (not per month — per year) adds custom domains, form submissions, more templates, and the ability to publish more than three sites. At that price, the paid plan is exceptional value for what it offers.
Building a Carrd site requires no account to start. You can create a site and preview it before signing up. This is a great way to test the tool risk-free.
Templates are minimalist and modern. Carrd doesn't try to do everything. It focuses on doing one thing — a single page — very well. The editing experience is cleaner and faster than most full website builders. Most people have a finished, published site within 20 to 30 minutes of opening Carrd for the first time.
Carrd sites are mobile-responsive by default, meaning they look good on phone screens without any extra work from you.
