Download the CVS app and sign in

    ~35s
Search for "CVS Pharmacy" in the App Store or Google Play and install the free app. Open it and tap "Sign In." If you have an existing CVS account or ExtraCare number, enter those credentials. If you do not have an account, tap "Create Account" and provide your name, email address, and a password. Enter your ExtraCare card number if you have one, or sign up for the free ExtraCare program during account creation.

    Quick Tip

Your ExtraCare number is printed on your physical ExtraCare card or on past receipts. If you cannot find it, a CVS pharmacist or store associate can look it up using your phone number.

    2

Add your prescriptions and request refills

    ~36s
Tap the "Pharmacy" tab at the bottom of the app screen. Here you can see your current prescriptions on file at CVS. If a prescription does not appear, tap "Add Prescription" and enter the prescription number from the bottle label, or select your CVS pharmacy location and have the pharmacist link it to your account next time you visit. To refill a prescription, tap the medication name and then "Refill." You can choose in-store pickup or home delivery.

    Warning

Refills requested through the app still need to be approved — some medications require a new prescription from your doctor before they can be refilled. The app will notify you if a new prescription is needed.

    3

Check and use your ExtraBucks rewards

    ~29s
Tap the "Deals" or "ExtraCare" tab to see your current ExtraBucks balance and available digital coupons. Load coupons to your card by tapping "Load to Card." When you check out at CVS, scan the barcode in the app (or give your phone number) and your loaded coupons will be applied automatically. ExtraBucks typically expire, so check the app regularly so rewards do not go unused.

    Quick Tip

Turn on push notifications for the CVS app to get alerts when new ExtraBucks post to your account, usually after qualifying purchases.

    4

Order photo prints for same-day pickup

    ~21s
Tap the "Photo" section in the app. Select photos from your phone's camera roll and choose a size — standard 4x6 prints are the most popular. Select your nearest CVS location and a pickup time, usually one hour. Pay through the app with a credit or debit card. This is a convenient way to print digital photos without needing a home printer.

CVS Pharmacy is one of the largest pharmacy chains in the United States, with more than 9,000 locations. The CVS app brings many of the most useful pharmacy and store features right to your smartphone, saving you time and trips to the store.

The most valuable feature for most people is prescription management. Through the app, you can request refills for your current medications with a few taps, set up automatic refills, and choose whether to pick them up in the store or have them shipped to your home. When your prescription is ready, the app sends a notification so you do not make an unnecessary trip.

The CVS app also connects to your ExtraCare rewards account, which is CVS's free loyalty program. ExtraBucks — CVS's store rewards — appear in the app as digital coupons that are applied automatically at checkout when you use your ExtraCare card. You no longer need to carry a physical card or clip paper coupons.

The app also allows you to order photo prints from your phone's camera roll. You select photos, choose the size and quantity, and pick them up in the store — typically within an hour. This is a popular feature for creating prints of digital photos or making a photo gift.

Setting up the app requires creating a CVS account or linking your existing ExtraCare number. The app is free on iPhone and Android. The CVS website at cvs.com offers the same prescription management features if you prefer a computer.
