Fortnite is one of the most popular video games in the world, especially among children ages 10 and up. It is a free-to-play game available on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile devices. The main game mode is a "battle royale" where 100 players drop onto an island and compete until one player or team remains. You can set a monthly spending limit or require a PIN for purchases, disable voice chat entirely or limit it to friends only, and turn on two-factor authentication so your child cannot change their account settings without your approval.
The parental controls are accessed through the Epic Games website rather than the game itself, which means you do not need to navigate in-game menus to configure them. You will need to create your own Epic Games account and link it to your child's account, or add a parental PIN directly to your child's existing account.
