Check compatibility

Most modern hearing aids support Bluetooth. "Made for iPhone" hearing aids work best with Apple devices. Android supports ASHA (Audio Streaming for Hearing Aids) on many models. Check with your audiologist.

Put hearing aids in pairing mode

Open and close the battery doors, or press and hold the pairing button (varies by brand). Your audiologist can show you the exact steps for your model. Some hearing aids pair through their own app.

Pair with iPhone

Settings > Accessibility > Hearing Devices. Your hearing aids should appear. Tap to pair. Accept the pairing request for each ear. The process takes about 30 seconds.

Pair with Android

Settings > Connected Devices > Pair New Device. Or use the hearing aid manufacturer's app (Phonak, Oticon, ReSound, etc.) which often provides a better setup experience.

What you can do once connected

Troubleshooting

If connection drops: toggle Bluetooth off and on. Restart your hearing aids (open/close battery door). Remove and re-pair the devices. Keep your phone within 30 feet of your hearing aids.
