    How to Post a Photo on Instagram

    Share a photo with your Instagram followers in just a few taps — from holidays and family moments to anything you want.

    In this guide (4 steps):

    1. 1.Tap the plus button
    2. 2.Choose your photo
    3. 3.Adjust and filter your photo
    4. 4.Add a caption and share

    Tap the plus button

    Open the Instagram app and tap the + (plus) icon at the center of the bottom menu bar. This starts a new post.

    Choose your photo

    Your camera roll will appear. Tap the photo you want to share. You can select more than one photo (up to 10) to create a set that people swipe through.

    Adjust and filter your photo

    You can crop your photo or apply a filter to change the look. When you are happy with it, tap "Next." Most people leave it on "Normal" (no filter).

    Quick Tip

    You do not have to use a filter. Your photo looks great as it is.

    Add a caption and share

    Tap "Write a caption..." to describe your photo or share a thought. When you are ready, tap "Share." Your photo will appear on your profile and in the feeds of people who follow you.

    Quick Tip

    To delete a post later, go to your profile, open the post, tap the three dots at the top right, and choose "Delete."
