A playlist is a custom collection of songs you group together — workout music, relaxing evening songs, road trip favorites, or a mix of your all-time favorites. Every music service lets you create playlists, and the process is similar across all of them.
On Spotify: tap "Your Library" → "+" → "Playlist." Name it, then search for songs. Tap the three dots next to any song → "Add to Playlist" → select your playlist. You can also tap "Add Songs" from within the playlist view.
On Apple Music: tap "Library" → "Playlists" → "New Playlist." Name it and tap "Add Music." Search and select songs to add. Or while playing any song, tap the three dots → "Add to a Playlist."
On YouTube Music: tap "Library" → "New Playlist." While playing a song, tap the three dots → "Add to playlist."
On Amazon Music: tap "Library" → "+" → "Create new playlist." Search for songs and tap "Add to Playlist."
All services let you reorder songs by dragging them. You can also make playlists collaborative (on Spotify and Apple Music), letting friends add songs too. Playlists can be as long as you want — some people have playlists with hundreds of songs.
Most services also offer "smart" or auto-generated playlists based on a theme or your listening history, which you can save and modify.
