Netflix now requires that accounts be used by people who live in the same household (same home, same WiFi network). If you want to share Netflix with someone outside your home, you need to use Netflix's official "Extra Member" feature.

Extra Members: Netflix Standard and Premium plans allow you to add extra members who live at a different address. Each extra member costs about $8/month and gets their own profile, login, and recommendations. To add one: go to netflix.com → Account → Extra Members → Buy an Extra Member Slot. The person receives an invitation to create their own login.

For people in your household: Netflix plans support 1-4 simultaneous streams depending on your plan. Standard supports 2 screens, and Premium supports 4 screens. Everyone in the same home can have their own profile within the account.

To manage profiles: go to netflix.com → Manage Profiles. You can add, edit, or delete profiles. Set up a Kids profile for children — it limits content to age-appropriate titles and uses a more colorful interface.

To see who is using your account: go to Account → Manage Access and Devices. This shows every device signed into your account and lets you sign out devices you do not recognize.

If you no longer want to share with someone, you can remove their profile and change your password to force them to sign out.
