Make sure you have Spotify installed

Search "Spotify" in the App Store or Google Play. The app is free to download. You need a Spotify account — free or Premium.

Search for an audiobook

Open Spotify and tap the Search icon. Type the book title or author name — for example, "James Patterson" or "Atomic Habits." In the results, tap "Audiobooks" to filter.

Open the audiobook and start listening

Tap the audiobook cover to see its details page. Tap the green "Play" button to start from the beginning, or browse chapters.

Track your monthly listening hours

Spotify shows how many of your 15 monthly hours you have used. Look for the hours counter on the audiobook page. Your hours reset at the beginning of each month.

Set a sleep timer for bedtime listening

While playing an audiobook, tap the three-dot menu (•••) and look for "Sleep Timer." Set it for 15, 30, or 45 minutes. Playback pauses automatically when time runs out.
