    Subscribing to a YouTube channel means you'll see new videos from that creator in your feed — like following someone on TV.

    Understand what subscribing means

    When you subscribe to a YouTube channel, new videos from that channel show up in your Subscriptions feed automatically. Think of it like choosing your favorite TV channels — except it is completely free. You need a free Google account to subscribe.

    Subscribe to a channel

    While watching a video, look below the video for the channel name or the round channel picture. Tap or click it to go to the channel's page. Then tap the red "Subscribe" button. It will change to say "Subscribed."

    Quick Tip

    To get a notification every time that channel posts a new video, tap the bell icon next to "Subscribed" and choose "All."

    View your subscriptions

    On the YouTube app, tap "Subscriptions" at the bottom of the screen. On a computer, click "Subscriptions" in the menu on the left side. You will see the latest videos from every channel you follow, all in one place.

    Unsubscribe from a channel

    If you no longer want to see videos from a channel, go to that channel's page and tap the "Subscribed" button. Then tap "Unsubscribe." You can also go to your Subscriptions feed, press and hold the channel name, and choose Unsubscribe.

    Find good channels to follow

    Try searching for topics you enjoy — cooking, gardening, travel, health tips, or local news. Some popular channels to start with include your local news station, AARP, and How-To Geek for tech help.
