Swagbucks is a free rewards website and app that lets you earn points — called SB — by doing things you might already do online. You can earn SB by shopping through the Swagbucks portal, watching short video playlists, taking surveys, playing games, searching the web through their search engine, and discovering new apps. Once you accumulate enough SB, you can trade them for real money via PayPal or for gift cards to hundreds of stores.
The exchange rate is simple: 100 SB equals $1 in value. So if you redeem 500 SB for a gift card, that card is worth $5. Swagbucks gift cards are available for Amazon, Walmart, Target, Starbucks, and many other retailers.
Swagbucks is not a way to replace your income — most users earn somewhere between $25 and $75 per month depending on how actively they use it. But for people who shop online regularly and would otherwise earn nothing back on those purchases, adding Swagbucks to your routine can result in meaningful savings over the course of a year.
The biggest earner for most people is shopping. When you start an online purchase from a retailer by clicking through the Swagbucks shopping portal first, you earn SB on your total purchase amount. For example, if a store offers 5 SB per dollar and you spend $50, you earn 250 SB — worth $2.50.
Swagbucks is available as a website (swagbucks.com) and as an app on iPhone and Android. Creating an account is free.
