How to Use Google Keep for Notes and Lists

Use Google Keep, a free note app, to write notes, make checklists, and save photos that sync across all your devices.

    1

    Install Google Keep

    ~15s
Download the Google Keep app from the App Store or Play Store. Or go to keep.google.com in any browser. Sign in with your Google (Gmail) account.
    2

    Create a note

    ~15s
Tap "Take a note" at the bottom. Type a title and your note content, then tap the back arrow. The note saves automatically.
    3

    Make a checklist

    ~15s
Tap the plus sign at the bottom and pick "New list". Type each item on a separate line. Tap a box to check off items as you go — great for groceries or to-dos.
    4

    Add labels to stay organized

    ~15s
Open any note, tap the three-dot menu, and pick "Labels". Create labels like Work, Personal, or Recipes. Then filter your notes by label from the main screen.
    5

    Set reminders on notes

    ~15s
Open a note and tap the bell icon at the top. Pick a time or place to be reminded. The note will pop up on your phone when the time comes or when you get to that location.
