Create Your Account and Add Your Pet

    ~21s
Go to vetster.com or download the Vetster app from the App Store or Google Play. Create a free account with your email address. Once logged in, tap "Add a pet" and fill in your pet's basic information — name, species, breed, age, and weight. You can add multiple pets. Having this information ready before your appointment saves time during the visit.
    2

Decide if Online Care is Right for This Situation

    ~30s
Online vets are best for non-emergency concerns — behavioral questions, minor skin issues, dietary advice, medication questions, or general wellness concerns. If your pet is in obvious pain, not breathing normally, unable to walk, or has been injured, skip the app and go to an emergency animal hospital right away. When in doubt about severity, call your local vet clinic — most clinics will tell you over the phone whether something needs to be seen in person immediately.

    Warning

Vetster is not an emergency service. Do not use it for life-threatening situations.

    3

Search for a Vet and Book an Appointment

    ~21s
From the app or website, tap "Find a vet" and filter by your pet type (dog, cat, bird, etc.) and availability. You can see each vet's photo, credentials, years of experience, and reviews from other pet owners. Tap "Book" next to the vet you want and choose a time slot. Appointments are often available within the same day.
    4

    Prepare Before the Call

    ~30s
Before your appointment, find a well-lit room where you can easily move your phone to show different parts of your pet. Have any relevant information ready — when the problem started, any changes in eating or behavior, current medications your pet takes, and any recent vet records if relevant. Write down your questions ahead of time so you do not forget to ask them during the call.

    Quick Tip

Quick Tip: Enlist another person to hold your pet while you manage the phone during the video call — it is much easier with two people.

    5

    Attend Your Video Appointment

    ~23s
At the scheduled time, open the app and tap your appointment to join the call. The vet will speak with you, ask questions about your pet's history and current symptoms, and ask you to show them your pet on camera from different angles. At the end, the vet will give you their assessment and recommendations — which may include a prescription, a referral for in-person care, or a home care plan.

Vetster is an online veterinary service that lets you book a video appointment with a licensed veterinarian from your phone or computer. Instead of loading your pet into the car and sitting in a waiting room, you can speak with a vet from your living room — usually within a few hours or even sooner.

Online vet visits are a good fit for a wide range of concerns: your dog is eating less than usual, your cat has been scratching more than normal, your pet has a new lump you want looked at, or you have questions about a medication or diet change. A Vetster vet can observe your pet through the camera, ask detailed questions, and give you a professional opinion.

There are things an online vet cannot do, and it is important to understand these limits. They cannot perform a physical exam, take blood samples, run x-rays, give injections, or handle emergencies. If your pet has a broken bone, is having trouble breathing, has collapsed, or has ingested something toxic, go to an emergency veterinary clinic immediately — do not wait for a video appointment.

Vetster visits are typically priced between $50 and $150 depending on the vet and the time of day. Some pet insurance policies cover telehealth visits, so check your policy. Vetster also shows you each vet's credentials, species experience, and patient reviews before you book, so you can pick someone with expertise in your type of pet.

Vetster is available on iPhone, Android, and the web at vetster.com.
