    How to Join a Zoom Call on Your Smart TV

    You can join Zoom video calls from your Smart TV for a larger screen experience. This guide covers TV apps, casting from phone, and the best setup for clear calls.

    What do you have? Amazon Fire TV Stick → use the Fire TV Zoom app (most feature-complete). Apple TV with iPhone → use AirPlay to mirror your phone's Zoom to the TV.     Use AirPlay from iPhone to Apple TV

    Open Zoom on your iPhone and join your meeting. Once in the call, swipe down from the top-right corner to open Control Center → tap "Screen Mirroring" → select your Apple TV. Your entire iPhone screen — including the Zoom call — appears on the TV. Your iPhone's microphone and camera are still used for your audio and video.

    Keep your iPhone nearby and pointed at you so others can see your face. The camera is on your phone, not the TV.

    Cast from Android to Chromecast

    Open Zoom on your Android phone and join the meeting. Swipe down from the top → tap "Cast" or "Screen Cast." Select your Chromecast or Chromecast-enabled TV from the list. Your phone screen appears on the TV. Again, your phone camera and microphone are what the call uses.

    Install Zoom on Amazon Fire TV

    On your Fire TV: go to the Home screenFindSearch → type "Zoom." Install the Zoom for Home app. Sign in with your Zoom account. For video, you need a separate USB-C or compatible camera connected to the Fire TV USB port (Logitech or Zoom Rooms camera). Without a camera, you can see others but they cannot see you.

    Use a laptop connected via HDMI

    Connect a standard HDMI cable from your laptop's HDMI port to the TV's HDMI input. Switch the TV's input source to that HDMI port. On your laptop, right-click the desktop → Display Settings → set the TV as your display or "Extend" to have the TV as a second screen. Open Zoom and start or join a meeting. The call appears on the big screen while your laptop camera and microphone handle the call.

    Watching a family Zoom call on a 55-inch TV is a much better experience than squinting at a phone screen. There are several ways to get Zoom on your TV, depending on what kind of TV or streaming device you have.

    Option 1 — Zoom app on Fire TV

    : Amazon Fire TV sticks and Fire TV Cube have a native Zoom app. This is the most complete option — you can use a Fire TV Zoom Room Camera (sold separately) for the video and audio, or cast video from your phone while using the TV for display.

    Option 2 — Cast from phone or computer

    : Use AirPlay (iPhone/Mac → Apple TV), Google Cast (Android/Chrome → Chromecast or Chromecast-enabled TV), or screen mirroring to show your Zoom call on the TV. This is the most common approach and requires no special TV support.

    Option 3 — Zoom app on Samsung Smart TV

    : Some Samsung Smart TVs (2021 or newer running Tizen OS) have a Zoom app in the app store.

    Option 4 — Computer to TV via HDMI

    : Connect your laptop to your TV with an HDMI cable. Set the TV as your computer display. Join Zoom on the laptop — it appears on the big screen. Your laptop's camera and microphone handle audio and video.

    For most people, casting from a phone or using a laptop + HDMI cable are the simplest approaches.
