How to Use AccuWeather for Accurate Forecasts

Download AccuWeather

Search "AccuWeather" in the App Store or Google Play. Download the free app. When prompted, allow AccuWeather to access your location for local forecasts.

View your current forecast

The main screen shows current conditions, hourly forecast, and a daily forecast. Scroll down to see air quality, UV index, wind, and the extended 15-day outlook.

Use MinuteCast for rain timing

On the main forecast screen, find the MinuteCast section — it shows a graph of precipitation intensity for the next two hours at your exact location. "Light rain starting in 22 minutes, ending at 4:45 PM."

Quick Tip

Check MinuteCast before leaving for a walk or outdoor activity. It tells you whether the rain will clear before you need to leave.

Enable severe weather alerts

Tap the bell icon (or SettingsNotifications) to turn on alerts for your location. Choose which types of alerts matter to you: tornadoes, thunderstorms, flash floods, extreme heat/cold.

Add multiple locations

Tap the location icon or the "+" button to add other locations — a family member's city, a vacation destination. Swipe between locations to check forecasts for each.
