How to Connect a Bluetooth Blood Pressure Monitor to Your Phone

Track your blood pressure over time by connecting your monitor to a health app on your phone.

    1

Check if your monitor has Bluetooth

    ~15s
Look for a Bluetooth symbol on your blood pressure monitor (it looks like a sideways bowtie). Check the box or manual if you are not sure. Popular Bluetooth monitors include Omron, Withings, and iHealth.
    2

    Download the companion app

    ~15s
Each brand has its own app. Search the App Store or Google Play for: "Omron Connect" (for Omron monitors), "Withings Health Mate" (for Withings), or "iHealth MyVitals" (for iHealth). Download and create a free account.
    3

    Pair the monitor

    ~15s
Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to pair. Usually: turn on your monitor, open the app, tap "Add Device" or "Pair New Device," and select your monitor from the list. You only need to do this once.
    4

    Take a reading

    ~15s
Sit quietly for 5 minutes. Wrap the cuff on your bare upper arm at heart level. Press Start on your monitor. The reading will automatically sync to your phone app within seconds.
    5

    Share results with your doctor

    ~18s
Most apps let you export a PDF report of your readings. Tap "Reports" or "Export" in the app and email it to your doctor before your next appointment. This helps them see trends over time.

    Quick Tip

Take readings at the same time each day (morning is best) for the most accurate tracking.
