    Visit Discovery+ to Sign Up

    ~16s
Go to discoveryplus.com on your phone, tablet, or computer. Click "Start Streaming" or "Subscribe." Create a free account with your email address and a password you choose. If you already have a cable provider account, you may be able to log in that way instead.

    Choose Your Plan

    ~25s
Select either the ad-supported plan (fewer dollars per month but includes commercials) or the ad-free plan. Both include the same programming library. Enter your payment information — credit card, debit card, or PayPal — to complete the signup. A free trial may be available for new subscribers.

    Quick Tip

If you primarily watch shows on a Roku or Amazon Fire TV, consider subscribing through those platforms instead. It may make billing simpler and consolidated with your other streaming services.

    Download the Discovery+ App

    ~18s
Search for "Discovery+" in the App Store (iPhone/iPad) or Google Play Store (Android) and download the free app. Sign in with the account you just created. On a Roku, Fire TV, or Smart TV, find "Discovery+" in the app or channel store and install it, then sign in with your email and password.

    Browse and Watch Shows

    ~17s
Once signed in, browse by network (HGTV, Food Network, TLC, etc.), category (Home & Garden, Food, True Crime, Nature), or use the search function to find a specific show or host. Tap any show to see all available seasons and episodes. Tap an episode to start watching right away.

    Download Shows for Offline Viewing

    ~23s
On the mobile app (phone or tablet), look for a download icon on episode pages. Tap it to save the episode to your device for watching without an internet connection — useful for travel or areas with limited wifi. Downloaded episodes are available for a limited time before they expire.

    Quick Tip

Downloading is only available on the ad-free plan. If you have the ad-supported plan, you can only stream, not download.

Discovery+ is a streaming service that brings together many of the most popular cable networks in one place. It works over the internet, so you do not need a cable subscription.

If you enjoy shows from HGTV, Food Network, TLC, or Investigation Discovery for true crime, they are all here. So are Animal Planet, Magnolia Network, and the Discovery Channel itself — one app for all of them.

The library is enormous: thousands of episodes of home renovation shows, cooking competitions, true crime stories, nature documentaries, travel programs, and reality series. Popular shows available on Discovery+ include House Hunters, Fixer Upper, Diners Drive-Ins and Dives, 90 Day Fiancé, Deadliest Catch, Dateline, and many more. Many series have dozens of seasons available to binge-watch at your own pace.

As of 2026, Discovery+ costs around $5 to $9 per month depending on whether you choose the plan with or without ads. The ad-supported plan is the same content at a lower price, with a small number of commercials during shows. There is also a Discovery+ with Max option if you want access to HBO content as well, though that is a higher-priced bundle.

Discovery+ is available on smartphones, tablets, computers, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Samsung and LG Smart TVs, and through Amazon Prime Video as an add-on channel. One subscription allows two simultaneous streams, meaning two people in the same household can watch different shows at the same time.

Signing up takes only a few minutes and you can cancel any time if you decide it is not for you.
