Open Disney+ and go to your profile menu

    ~15s
Launch the Disney+ app on any device or visit disneyplus.com. Tap or click on the profile icon in the top-right corner of the screen. This opens your account menu where you can manage existing profiles or create new ones.
    2

Create a new profile for your child

    ~26s
Select "Add Profile" and enter your child's name. When asked about the profile type, choose "Kids Profile" — this is the option that enables Kids Mode. You will be prompted to set a four-digit PIN at this point. Choose a PIN that you can remember but your child cannot guess.

    Quick Tip

Quick Tip: Write your PIN down and store it somewhere safe, like a notes app locked with your fingerprint. Forgetting it means contacting Disney+ support to reset it.

    3

    Confirm Kids Mode is active

    ~15s
Once the profile is created, tap on it to open it. You should see a simplified browsing interface with only child-appropriate content visible. The profile will display a small lock or "Kids" badge on the profile selection screen to confirm the setting is active.
    4

    Test the PIN lock

    ~28s
Try tapping the profile icon inside your child's Kids Mode profile and selecting "Switch Profile" or "Edit Profile." The app should immediately ask for your four-digit PIN before allowing any changes. If it does, the lock is working correctly. If not, go back to your account settings and verify that the Kids Profile option is still selected.

    Warning

If you share a tablet with your child, make sure you switch back to your own profile when you are done watching. Kids Mode only protects content within that specific profile.

Disney+ Kids Mode is a special profile setting that turns the streaming app into a safe space for young viewers. When Kids Mode is turned on, the profile shows only content rated for children — think animated movies, educational shows, and age-appropriate Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and National Geographic content. The full Disney+ library, including PG-13 and TV-14 titles, is hidden from view.

The most important feature of Kids Mode is that it is locked with a PIN. Your child cannot turn off Kids Mode or switch to a different profile without entering the four-digit code you set. This means even if your child knows how to navigate streaming apps, they cannot accidentally stumble onto content that is not appropriate for their age.

Kids Mode also disables autoplay previews, which means graphic or loud content will not start playing automatically while your child is browsing. The interface in Kids Mode is simplified and more visual, making it easier for younger children to find shows they enjoy without needing to read a lot of text.

You can create a Kids Mode profile for each child in your household with a Disney+ subscription. The service supports up to seven profiles per account, so there is room for the whole family. Kids Mode is available on smart TVs, Fire sticks, Roku, phones, tablets, and the Disney+ website. Setting it up takes less than five minutes.
