Go to your Netflix account on a web browser

    ~18s
Open a web browser on a computer or tablet and go to netflix.com. Sign in to your account if needed. Netflix's full account management options are only available through the website — the mobile app does not let you create or manage profiles in the same way.
    2

    Create a Kids profile

    ~25s
Click on the profile icon in the top-right corner and select "Manage Profiles." Then click "Add Profile." Enter a name for your child and toggle on the "Kids" option — it appears as a switch labeled "Kid?" under the name field. Click Save. The profile is now set to show only age-appropriate content.

    Quick Tip

Quick Tip: You can add a fun avatar to the profile so your child can easily recognize it on the profile selection screen.

    3

Set a profile PIN to prevent switching

    ~29s
Go to netflix.com/account on the website. Scroll down to the "Profile & Parental Controls" section and click on your child's Kids profile. Click "Change" next to "Profile Lock." Enter your Netflix account password and then enter a four-digit PIN twice to confirm. Click Save. Your child will now need this PIN to exit the Kids profile.

    Warning

Profile PINs are separate from your main Netflix password. If you forget the PIN, you can reset it by going back to Account settings and turning Profile Lock off and on again.

    4

Verify the profile on the TV or device your child uses

    ~28s
Open Netflix on the device your child uses — a TV, tablet, or phone. On the profile selection screen, tap your child's profile. Confirm that the content library shows only appropriate titles and that the browsing interface matches the Kids experience. Try tapping the profile icon to switch away — the PIN should be required.

    Quick Tip

Quick Tip: Netflix Kids profiles include a row labeled "My List" where you can add your child's favorite shows to make them easier to find.

Netflix Kids profiles are a free feature available on all Netflix subscription plans. When you create a Kids profile for a child, Netflix automatically sets the content to only show titles rated for children — typically G, PG, and TV-Y through TV-G content. Older, more mature titles are not visible in the Kids profile at all.

Netflix also allows you to set a PIN on the Kids profile so your child cannot switch to a different profile or change settings without your permission. You can find this option in the account settings on the Netflix website. From a computer, you have the most control — you can set the PIN, adjust the maturity level of content, and choose specific shows you want to block even if they fall within the allowed rating range.

One thing worth knowing is that Netflix Kids profiles work differently from Netflix's general profile maturity settings. A Kids profile is locked to the lowest content tier and cannot be changed from within the Netflix app — only a parent can modify it by entering the PIN. General profiles, by contrast, let any user change their maturity settings.

Netflix allows up to five profiles per account, and each one can have its own name, icon, and settings. Creating a Kids profile takes about two minutes and can be done on a phone, tablet, smart TV, or computer. Once set up, your child can open their profile and start watching without any risk of seeing something inappropriate.
