    Sign up for Amazon Kids+

    ~24s
Go to amazon.com and search for "Amazon Kids+" or visit amazon.com/kidsplus. Click "Start your free trial" — new subscribers usually get a one-month free trial. Sign in with your Amazon account and enter your payment information to complete enrollment. You will not be charged until the trial ends.

    Quick Tip

Quick Tip: If you are a Prime member, you get a discounted rate. Make sure you are signed in to the correct Amazon account before subscribing.

    2

    Download the Amazon Kids+ app

    ~18s
On your child's device, open the App Store or Google Play and search for "Amazon Kids+" and download it. On a Fire tablet, the app is already pre-installed and will appear on the home screen. Open the app and sign in with your Amazon account to activate the subscription on that device.
    3

    Create a child profile

    ~17s
Open the Amazon Kids+ app and tap "Add Child Profile." Enter your child's name, date of birth, and gender. Amazon uses the date of birth to suggest content matching your child's age range. You can adjust the content age range at any time if you want stricter or more expansive options.
    4

Explore the content library with your child

    ~27s
Once the profile is set up, the app shows a colorful home screen with recommended books, shows, and apps. The content is divided into sections like "Books," "Videos," "Apps," and "Alexa." Spend a few minutes browsing with your child to help them find topics they enjoy — this encourages them to return to the app on their own.

    Quick Tip

Quick Tip: The "Learn First" feature in the Parent Dashboard lets you require your child to complete an educational activity before accessing entertainment content.

    5

    Set up the Parent Dashboard

    ~19s
Go to amazon.com/parentdashboard on a web browser or open the Amazon Parent Dashboard app on your phone. From here you can view your child's activity, set daily time limits, approve book requests, and manage which content is available. Changes you make in the Parent Dashboard take effect on your child's device within a few minutes.

Amazon Kids+ (formerly known as FreeTime Unlimited) is a subscription service from Amazon that gives children ages 3 to 12 unlimited access to thousands of books, audiobooks, educational apps, games, videos, and Alexa skills — all curated and approved for kids. The subscription is available on Fire tablets, iPhone, iPad, Android phones, and the Amazon website.

Every piece of content in Amazon Kids+ has been reviewed by Amazon's team for age-appropriateness. Parents can also filter content by age range — 3 to 5, 6 to 8, or 9 to 12 — so younger children see content built for their developmental stage while older children get more variety. There are no advertisements inside Amazon Kids+.

Amazon Kids+ works hand-in-hand with the Parent Dashboard, a free tool that lets you see what your child has been reading, watching, and playing. You can also set daily time limits, create an educational goals system, and approve or block specific titles from the Parent Dashboard.

The subscription costs $4.99 per month for Prime members and $7.99 per month without Prime, for up to four children. If you have a Fire Kids tablet, the first year of Amazon Kids+ is often included for free. Amazon Kids+ is one of the most cost-effective ways to give a child access to a large library of age-appropriate educational content, especially compared to buying books and apps individually.
