A recurring reminder is a friendly note from your phone that shows up over and over on a schedule you choose. You can set one to remind yourself to take medicine every morning, water the plants every Tuesday, pay a bill on the first of the month, or call a friend every Sunday afternoon. Once you set it up, your phone does the remembering for you. You will see a small message on your screen and hear a gentle sound at the time you picked. Recurring reminders are one of the most helpful features on any smartphone. And they are surprisingly painless to set up. This guide covers both iPhone and Android phones. On iPhone, you will use the built-in Reminders app, which has a white icon with colored dots. On Android, you will use Google Keep or Google Assistant, both of which come pre-installed on most Android phones. The steps are clear, and you do not need to download anything new. If you have never used the Reminders app or Google Keep before, do not worry. The first time you open it, the app may ask if it can send you notifications. Tap "Allow" so the reminders can actually pop up on your screen. After that, you can add as many recurring reminders as you like. There is no limit, and they will not slow your phone down. If you ever want to stop a reminder, you can delete it in two taps. Take your time with each step, and feel free to start with one simple reminder, like a daily reminder to drink a glass of water. Once you see how helpful it is, you will likely want to add more.
