Kaiser Permanente is one of the largest managed care organizations in the United States, serving members in California, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Maryland, Oregon, Virginia, Washington, and Washington, D.C. If you are a Kaiser member, the Kaiser Permanente app and website give you access to nearly every aspect of your care — from scheduling appointments and refilling prescriptions to reviewing lab results and speaking with a doctor by video.
The app is designed to be a one-stop place for managing your health. Kaiser members can avoid many phone calls by handling routine tasks directly in the app. You can request a prescription refill and choose to have it mailed to your home or ready for pickup at your nearest Kaiser pharmacy. You can schedule a routine appointment, see available times, and confirm it without speaking to anyone.
Kaiser's "My Doctor Online" feature allows you to message your care team directly. For non-urgent medical questions, you can usually expect a response within one to three business days. Kaiser also offers telephone appointments and video visits for many types of care — especially useful if you have limited transportation or mobility.
Test results from lab work or imaging studies appear in the app, usually within days of the test. Kaiser encourages members to review their results in the app, and your care team will follow up with you if anything requires attention.
Setting up the app requires your Kaiser member ID number, which is printed on your insurance card. You will also need to create an account at kp.org if you do not already have one. The app is free on iPhone and Android, and the full website version is available at kp.org.
