Sign up for a One Medical membership

    ~33s
Go to onemedical.com or download the One Medical app from the App Store or Google Play. Tap "Join One Medical" and select a membership plan. The individual annual membership is $199. If you have an Amazon Prime account, check whether your plan includes a One Medical membership by going to your Amazon account and looking under "Memberships and Subscriptions."

    Quick Tip

One Medical is currently available in major cities including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Boston, Washington DC, Phoenix, and several others. Check the website to confirm there is an office near you before signing up for in-person visits.

    2

Complete your health profile in the app

    ~18s
Download the One Medical app and log in with your membership account. Fill in your medical history, including current medications, allergies, past conditions, and the names of any specialists you currently see. You can also transfer records from a previous primary care doctor through the app's record transfer request tool.
    3

    Book a same-day or next-day appointment

    ~30s
Tap "Book a Visit" in the app and choose between an in-office visit or a video visit. For in-office visits, select a location near you. One Medical usually shows same-day appointment slots prominently at the top of the calendar. Choose your preferred provider if you have one, or select "Any available provider" for the fastest appointment time.

    Quick Tip

For video visits, you can usually connect within minutes during business hours and sometimes at night or on weekends too. Book a video visit for conditions that do not require a physical exam.

    4

Message your care team between visits

    ~29s
One Medical's app has a built-in messaging feature that connects you directly to your care team. You can ask follow-up questions after a visit, request a prescription refill, get guidance on a minor concern, or ask for a referral to a specialist — all without scheduling an appointment. Responses usually arrive within a few hours on business days.

    Warning

For urgent symptoms that cannot wait for a message response, use the virtual visit option for faster care. For true emergencies, always call 911 or go to an emergency room.

    5

View lab results and health records

    ~19s
After any lab work or test, results appear directly in the One Medical app once they are reviewed by your provider. Tap "Health Records" to see your full medical history, past visit summaries, vaccination records, and lab results in one place. You can download or share these records with specialists or other providers at any time.

One Medical is a membership-based primary care service, now owned by Amazon. Members get same-day or next-day appointments at One Medical offices in major US cities, plus 24/7 virtual visits from anywhere. It's built for people who are tired of long waits to see a primary care doctor and want faster, easier access to ongoing care.

The annual membership currently costs $199 per year for individuals, or it's included with certain Amazon Prime plans. With a membership, you pay your regular insurance copay for visits — or a flat fee if you don't have insurance. In return, you get priority scheduling and virtual care access that most regular doctor's offices don't offer.

One Medical isn't a replacement for emergency care or highly specialized medical care. But it works well as your primary care home base. They handle annual physicals, chronic condition management (like blood pressure, diabetes, and thyroid conditions), mental health referrals, treatment for common illness, and preventive care like vaccinations and cancer screenings.

The One Medical app is the hub for everything. You can message your care team, request a video visit, book in-person appointments, view lab results, renew prescriptions, and review your health records — all from your phone. Messages to the care team are usually answered within a few hours during business hours.

If you live near a One Medical office and want a primary care experience that combines the convenience of telehealth with the availability of same-day in-person visits, a One Medical membership can be a good value for ongoing healthcare needs.
