    1

    Set up your Shipt account

    ~23s
Go to shipt.com in your browser or download the Shipt app from the App Store or Google Play Store. Tap "Sign Up" and enter your email address, create a password, and enter your delivery address. You will need to add a credit or debit card to complete setup.

    Quick Tip

Target Circle members can access Shipt delivery directly through the Target app — no separate Shipt account required for Target orders.

    2

Choose a membership or pay per order

    ~17s
Shipt offers a $99/year membership with free delivery on orders over $35. If you prefer not to commit, you can pay a delivery fee per order (typically $7–$10). On the account setup screen, you will be given the option to start a free 4-week trial of the membership.
    3

Browse your store and add items to your cart

    ~19s
Select a store from the list available in your area. Browse by category — produce, dairy, frozen, pantry — or use the search bar to find specific items. Tap the plus button to add each item to your cart. You can type in a specific brand or item name to search.
    4

Choose a delivery time and check out

    ~17s
When your cart is ready, tap "Check Out." Select a delivery window — you will see available time slots for today and the next few days. Choose one that works for you, review your order total, and confirm your payment. You will receive a confirmation email right away.
    5

    Communicate with your shopper

    ~22s
Once your shopper starts picking your items, you will get text updates and can chat through the app. If an item is out of stock, your shopper will ask whether you want a substitution or a refund. Responding quickly helps your order stay on schedule.

    Quick Tip

You can add notes to individual items in your cart — for example, "ripe bananas only" or "please grab the large container.""

    6

Receive your delivery and tip your shopper

    ~18s
Your groceries will be left at your door. You do not need to be home if you prefer a contactless drop-off. After delivery, open the Shipt app to leave a rating and tip. A tip of 15–20% of your order total is the standard range, but any amount is appreciated.

Shipt is a same-day grocery delivery service that shops at stores like Target, Meijer, H-E-B, and others on your behalf and delivers everything to your front door — often within one to two hours. It is a great option if driving to the store is difficult or if you want to save time. A personal shopper picks your items, bags them, and brings them to you.

You can use Shipt two ways: with a membership or pay per order. The Shipt membership costs $99 per year (about $8.25 per month) and gives you free delivery on orders over $35. Without a membership, you pay a delivery fee on each order, which typically ranges from $7 to $10. If you shop for groceries regularly, the membership usually pays for itself within a few months.

To get started, go to shipt.com on your computer or download the free Shipt app from the App Store or Google Play. Create a free account with your email address and enter your delivery address. You will be asked for a payment method — a debit or credit card works.

Once you are set up, browse available stores in your area. Select your store, then add items to your cart the same way you would shop on any website. When your order is ready, choose a delivery window — many slots are available for the same day. You can even schedule deliveries for a specific day and time that works for your week.

After placing the order, Shipt assigns a personal shopper. You will receive text updates as they shop, and you can communicate directly with your shopper through the Shipt app if an item is out of stock and you want a substitution. This live communication is one of the most useful parts of the service.

When your groceries arrive, the shopper leaves them at your door. You do not need to be present for the delivery. Tipping your shopper is optional but appreciated — 15 to 20 percent of your order total is standard. You can add the tip in the app after delivery.
