    Check eligibility at your home address

    Go to home.t-mobile.com in your browser and enter your home address. The site will tell you right away if T-Mobile Home Internet is available at your address and what speeds are usually delivered there. Not every address qualifies — coverage depends on T-Mobile's tower network in your area. If you are not eligible at your current address, you can check back in a few months as T-Mobile continues expanding coverage.

    Order online or visit a T-Mobile store

    If your address qualifies, you can order directly on the website and have the gateway shipped to you, usually arriving in 2-5 days. You can also walk into any T-Mobile store and sign up in person — the store staff will walk you through the process and can answer questions. In-store signup also lets you take the gateway home the same day. No technician appointment is needed in either case.

    Unbox the gateway and find a good placement spot

    The T-Mobile gateway is a cylindrical white device about 8 inches tall. Unbox it and before plugging it in, download the T-Mobile Internet app (free on iPhone and Android). Open the app and go to the signal finder tool. It uses your gateway's location to show you which spots in your home have the strongest signal from the nearest T-Mobile tower. Generally, placing the gateway near an exterior wall or window facing the direction of the nearest tower gives the best results.

    Placing the gateway in the center of your home, in a basement, or behind large metal objects greatly reduces the cellular signal strength and can result in much slower speeds. Signal placement is the most important factor in your experience with T-Mobile Home Internet.

    Plug in and activate the gateway

The T-Mobile app will guide you through the activation process step by step — this usually takes about 10-15 minutes. During setup, you will create your WiFi network name and password.     Connect your devices and test your speed
