Locate the power button
~15sOn MacBooks, it's the Touch ID button in the top-right corner. On iMacs, it's on the back behind the lower-left corner.

Turn on your Mac
~15sPress the power button once. The Apple logo will appear and macOS will start loading.

Log in
~15sClick your user account and enter your password, or use Touch ID (fingerprint) to log in.

Shut down properly
~15sClick the Apple menu (top-left) → Shut Down. Wait for the screen to go black.

Use Sleep mode
~15sClose the MacBook lid or choose Apple menuSleep. Your Mac will wake instantly when you open it.
