    How to Use the Medicare Website and App

    Access your Medicare information, check coverage, view claims, and find doctors using Medicare.gov and the app.

    Create a Medicare.gov account

    Go to medicare.gov and click "Log in / Create account." You will create a Login.gov account (the government's secure login system). Enter your email, create a password, and verify your identity. You will then link it to your Medicare number from your red, white, and blue Medicare card.

    View your coverage and claims

    Once logged in, click "My Medicare" to see your current coverage — Part A (hospital), Part B (medical), Part C (Medicare Advantage), and Part D (drug coverage). Click "Claims" to see recent Medicare claims filed by your doctors and what was paid.

    Find Medicare-approved doctors

    Click "Find care" and search for doctors, hospitals, or other providers near you. The tool shows whether they accept Medicare and their quality ratings. You can search by specialty, location, or provider name.

    Compare drug plans using Plan Finder

    Click "Find health and drug plans" to use the Medicare Plan Finder. Enter your drugs and pharmacy to compare Part D drug plans by cost. This tool can help you find a plan that covers your medications at the lowest price.
