    How to Use YouTube on Your Smart TV

    Watch free videos, music, and tutorials on YouTube right from your TV.

    In this guide (5 steps):

    1. 1.Find the YouTube app

    4. 4.Search for videos

    Find the YouTube app

    Look for the YouTube app on your smart TV home screen. It has a red play button icon. If you do not see it, go to your TV app store and search for "YouTube." Download it for free.

    Open YouTube

    Click on the YouTube app to open it. You can start watching videos right away without signing in, but signing in gives you more features.

    Sign in to your account (optional)

    If you want to see your saved videos and subscriptions, select "Sign In." A code will appear on the screen. On your phone or computer, go to youtube.com/activate and enter the code.

    Quick Tip

    Signing in on your phone and entering the code is much easier than typing your password with the TV remote.

    Search for videos

    Use the search button (magnifying glass icon) to type in what you want to watch. You can also use voice search if your remote has a microphone button.

    Browse and enjoy

    Scroll through recommended videos on the home screen. Use the left side menu to find Trending videos, your Subscriptions, and your Library of saved videos. YouTube is completely free to use.
