How to View Smart Home Cameras on Your Phone

Check your home security cameras live from anywhere using your phone — with Blink, Arlo, and Ring cameras.

    1

    Choose and install your camera

    ~17s
Blink cameras are battery-powered and easy to place anywhere — great for renters or locations without easy wiring. Arlo cameras offer strong video quality and weatherproofing. Ring cameras integrate well if you already have a Ring doorbell. Mount the camera in your desired location following the included instructions.
    2

    Download the companion app

    ~15s
Download the app for your camera brand: Blink Home Monitor app, Arlo app, or Ring app from the App Store or Google Play. Create a free account with your email address.
    3

Add the camera in the app

    ~15s
Open the app and tap "Add Device" or "+" to add your camera. The app will scan a QR code on the camera or walk you through connecting it to your home WiFi network. This takes about 3 to 5 minutes.
    4

    View the live feed

    ~15s
Once connected, tap the camera in the app to see a live video feed. Most apps show a thumbnail of recent motion clips on the main screen. Tap "Live View" to see what the camera sees in real time from wherever you are.
    5

    Set up motion alerts

    ~16s
In the app's settings for each camera, enable "Motion Alerts." You can adjust the sensitivity to reduce false alerts from passing cars or swaying trees. When motion is detected, you will receive a push notification on your phone with a short video clip of what triggered it.
