Wells Fargo Mobile App: How to Use It for Daily Banking

Wells Fargo is one of the four largest banks in the United States, and its Mobile app provides access to your checking accounts, savings accounts, credit cards, and loans all in one place on your phone. Like most major bank apps, it is free to download and does not cost anything extra to use for standard banking tasks.

With the Wells Fargo Mobile app, you can check your current balances and view your transaction history, transfer money between your Wells Fargo accounts or to accounts at other banks, deposit paper checks using your phone's camera, pay your credit card bill or set up payments to other companies, send or receive money through Zelle, set up alerts to notify you of low balances or unusual activity, and temporarily freeze your debit card if you cannot find it.

The Wells Fargo app is available for iPhone and Android. It uses fingerprint or Face ID for fast, secure sign-in, and the app encrypts your personal information to protect it during transmission. Wells Fargo also monitors accounts around the clock for suspicious activity and will alert you if something unusual occurs.

One useful feature of the Wells Fargo app is "Spend Wisely," a tool that categorizes your spending automatically — groceries, dining, utilities, and so on — so you can see where your money is going each month. This works automatically without any extra setup.

To use the app, you need a Wells Fargo account. If you bank with Wells Fargo but have not set up online access yet, you can enroll through the app using your account number and Social Security number.
