Windows 11 has a Quick Settings panel — a small menu that pops up when you click in the bottom right corner of the taskbar — that lets you control common settings without digging through the full Settings app. It's one of the most useful shortcuts for everyday use.
How to open it:
Look at the bottom right corner of your screen (the taskbar). You'll see small icons showing your Wi-Fi connection status, speaker/volume icon, and battery level (on laptops). Click that cluster of icons — not the clock, but the icons right away to the left of the clock. The Quick Settings panel will open as a floating panel.
What you can control from Quick Settings:
- **Wi-Fi** — Click the Wi-Fi tile to turn Wi-Fi on or off. Click the arrow next to it to choose a different network or see available networks.
- **Bluetooth** — Turn Bluetooth on or off with one click. Click the arrow to connect to or disconnect from Bluetooth devices like headphones or a wireless mouse.
- **Airplane Mode** — Turns off all wireless connections at once. Useful when traveling.
- **Do Not Disturb** — Silences all notification pop-ups so you can focus without interruptions.
- **Battery Saver** (laptops only) — Reduces background activity to extend battery life.
- **Accessibility** — Shortcut to accessibility options like Magnifier and Narrator.
- **Brightness slider** (laptops) — Drag the slider to adjust screen brightness.
- **Volume slider** — Drag to adjust system volume.
- **Screen Cast / Connect** — Wirelessly project your screen to a TV or monitor.
You can also customize which tiles appear in Quick Settings. Click the pencil (edit) icon in the bottom right of the Quick Settings panel and then add, remove, or rearrange tiles to suit your needs.
Quick Settings is a real time-saver. Instead of going to Settings > System > Bluetooth every time you want to turn off Bluetooth, you can do it in one click from the taskbar.
