Download ABCmouse and start your free trial

    ~29s
Search for "ABCmouse: Kids Learning Games" in the App Store or Google Play and download the app. Open it and tap "Start your FREE Trial" on the welcome screen. You will be asked to create an account with your email address and a password. Enter a valid payment method to start the trial — you will not be charged until the trial ends.

    Quick Tip

Quick Tip: The ABCmouse website at abcmouse.com offers the same content as the app and can be used on a home computer without downloading anything.

    2

    Set up your child's profile

    ~18s
After creating your account, ABCmouse will ask you to set up a child profile. Enter your child's name and age. The app uses the age to place your child at the right starting point on the Learning Path. You can adjust the placement later if the activities seem too easy or too challenging.
    3

    Start the Learning Path together

    ~29s
Tap on your child's profile to enter the ABCmouse world. You will see a colorful map with their Learning Path. Sit with your child for the first session to help them understand how to navigate the app and what to do when an activity appears. After one or two sessions, most children 4 and older can navigate independently.

    Quick Tip

Quick Tip: For children ages 2 to 3, plan to sit with them for each session. The content is appropriate for toddlers, but they will need a parent's help with navigation.

    4

Review progress from the parent dashboard

    ~21s
Tap the parent icon (usually a lock symbol) at the top of the app screen and enter your parent password to access the progress dashboard. Here you can see which skills your child has completed, which subjects they spend the most time on, and where they are on their Learning Path. The dashboard also suggests activities you might want to focus on next.

ABCmouse is an educational app for children ages 2 through 8 that covers the full curriculum for early childhood — reading and phonics, numbers and math, science, social studies, art, and music. The app is designed to guide children through a structured learning path, which means each activity builds on what the child has already learned rather than randomly jumping between topics.

Children navigate a colorful "Learning Path" where they complete interactive games, puzzles, songs, and short books. As they finish activities, they earn virtual tickets and rewards, which keeps younger children motivated. The learning is entirely self-guided — children move at their own pace without needing a parent to direct each step.

ABCmouse has received strong endorsements from parents and educators, and it covers the same foundational skills taught in preschool and kindergarten. Many families use it to prepare a child for school, reinforce what is being taught in class, or keep learning going during summer breaks.

The subscription costs $12.99 per month or $59.99 per year, and a one-month free trial is usually available for new subscribers. The app works on iPhone, iPad, Android devices, Amazon Fire tablets, and through web browsers on Mac and Windows computers. Up to three child profiles can be created under one ABCmouse account.
