How to Adjust Picture Settings on Your Smart TV

Make your TV picture look its best by adjusting brightness, color, and picture mode.

    1

    Open your TV picture settings

    ~15s
Press the Settings or Menu button on your TV remote. Look for a section called Picture, Display, or Image Settings.
    2

    Choose a picture mode

    ~15s
Most TVs have preset picture modes like Standard, Movie, Vivid, and Sports. Try "Standard" or "Movie" for the most natural-looking picture. "Vivid" makes colors brighter but can look unnatural.

    Quick Tip

Movie mode usually gives the most accurate colors. It is the best choice for watching films.

    3

    Adjust brightness

    ~15s
If the picture looks too dark or too bright, find the Brightness slider and move it left or right until the picture looks comfortable to your eyes.
    4

    Adjust color and contrast

    ~15s
If colors look washed out, increase the Color setting slightly. If dark areas look too black or bright areas look too white, adjust the Contrast setting.
    5

    Save your settings

    ~16s
Most TVs save your changes automatically. Some may ask you to press OK or Save. Your settings will stay the same until you change them again.

    Quick Tip

If you make a mistake, look for a "Reset to Default" option in the picture settings to go back to the original settings.
