Bixby is Samsung's built-in voice assistant available on Galaxy smartphones. It works similarly to Siri (on iPhone) or Google Assistant — you give voice commands and Bixby performs actions or answers questions.
You can wake Bixby by pressing and holding the side button on your Galaxy phone (if configured) or by saying "Hi Bixby" if voice wake is turned on.
What Bixby can do
: - Set alarms, timers, and calendar events - Send text messages or make calls by voice - Open any app on your phone - Change phone settings (turn on Wi-Fi, adjust brightness, enable Do Not Disturb) - Answer general knowledge questions - Read out your schedule or reminders - Take photos or start recording by voice - Set up routines that perform multiple actions with one command
Bixby Routines
: This is Bixby's most powerful feature for everyday use. You create automation rules — "When I connect to my home Wi-Fi, turn on Do Not Disturb and reduce brightness." Or "At 9 PM every night, start playing calm music and dim my screen." Routines run automatically without any voice command.
If you find Bixby accidentally opens when you press the side button, you can go to Settings → Advanced Features → Side key and change what the side button does (long press can be set to power menu instead).
