Chase Mobile App: Check Balances, Pay Bills, and Deposit Checks

The Chase Mobile app lets you manage your Chase bank accounts from your phone — check balances, transfer money, pay bills.

Download the Chase Mobile app and sign in

Search "Chase Mobile" in the App Store or Google Play Store and install the free app. Open it and tap "Sign In." If you already have a Chase online banking account, enter your username and password. If this is your first time setting up online access, tap "Enroll" and follow the steps. You will need your Chase account number, Social Security number, and a valid email address.

Quick Tip

Quick Tip: After your first sign-in, set up Face ID or fingerprint login so you do not have to type your password every time. Go to Profile (top right) > Security Settings > Enable Face/Touch ID.

Check your account balances and recent transactions

After signing in, the app shows a summary of all your Chase accounts — checking, savings, and credit cards. Tap any account to see its current balance and a list of recent transactions in date order. Tap any transaction to see its full details, including the merchant name, amount, date, and category. You can also search for a specific transaction using the search bar at the top of the transaction list.

Transfer money between your Chase accounts

Tap "Pay & Transfer" from the bottom menu, then "Transfer." Choose the account you are transferring money from and the account you are transferring money to. Enter the amount and the date. Review the summary and tap "Transfer Now." Most transfers between Chase accounts post right away or by the next business day.

Deposit a check with your phone camera

Tap "Deposit" from the main menu or bottom navigation. Select the account you want the check deposited into. Take a photo of the front of the check, then a photo of the back. Before photographing the back, sign your name on the back of the check and write "For Chase Mobile Deposit Only" below your signature — this is required. Enter the check amount and tap "Deposit." Funds from most checks are available within one to two business days.

Warning

After a successful mobile deposit, keep the physical check in a safe place for at least 30 days before shredding it — in case there is any question about the deposit. Do not deposit the same check twice.

Pay a bill or send money with Zelle

Tap "Pay & Transfer" from the bottom menu. To pay a bill — such as your phone, utilities, or a credit card at another bank — tap "Pay Bills" and search for the company. Add the company and your account number, then schedule a payment. To send money to a person, tap "Send Money with Zelle," enter the recipient's phone number or email, and enter the amount. Zelle transfers between enrolled users are usually instant.

The Chase Mobile app is the official banking app for JPMorgan Chase, one of the largest banks in the United States. If you have a Chase checking account, savings account, credit card, or mortgage, you can manage all of them from one app on your phone. The app is free to download and free to use — Chase does not charge extra fees for mobile banking.

With the Chase Mobile app, you can check your account balances and recent transactions at any time, transfer money between your Chase accounts, pay your Chase credit card bill or other bills, deposit checks by taking a photo with your phone's camera, send or receive money using Zelle (a free person-to-person transfer service built into the app), and set up account alerts so you get a notification when a large charge posts or your balance drops below a certain amount.

The app is designed with security in mind. You can sign in with Face ID, Touch ID (fingerprint), or a 6-digit PIN instead of typing your full password every time. Chase also monitors your account for suspicious activity and will alert you if something unusual happens.

For people who prefer to handle banking at home rather than visiting a branch, the Chase Mobile app can handle nearly every common banking task. The main things you still need a branch or ATM for are depositing cash and getting a cashier's check.

The Chase Mobile app is available in the App Store (iPhone) and Google Play Store (Android). Download it by searching "Chase Mobile" — look for the blue Chase octagon logo.
