How to Use the Costco App

The Costco app lets you shop online, find warehouse deals, scan your membership card at the door.

At a Glance

Download the Costco app

Search "Costco" in the App Store or Google Play. Download the free app. Sign in with your Costco.com account, or create one using your membership number and email.

Set up your digital membership card

Tap the menu icon (three lines) → Membership Card. Your card number and barcode appear on screen. At the warehouse entrance, just show this screen.

Browse and shop online

Tap the search bar and search for items. You can shop Costco's full online catalog, including items not carried in your local warehouse. Choose delivery to home or pickup.

Quick Tip

Costco's return policy is exceptional — most items can be returned at any time for a full refund. Keep digital receipts in the app.

Check the weekly Hot Buys

Tap "Hot Buys" on the home screen to see the current week's discounts. These rotate regularly. If you are planning a warehouse visit, check Hot Buys first to catch deals.

Find Costco gas prices before filling up

Tap the store finder icon and select your nearest Costco. The current gas price is shown on the warehouse detail page. Costco gas is usually $0.10 to $0.25 cheaper per gallon than nearby stations.

The Costco app brings many warehouse benefits to your phone. As a Costco member, you can use the app to shop online, browse current deals, locate warehouses, and scan your membership card at the entrance — no physical card required.

Online shopping

: The Costco app lets you order products for shipping to your home or for warehouse pickup. Prices online are the same as in the warehouse, and many items online are only available through Costco.com rather than in the physical store.

Weekly Hot Buys

: Costco posts weekly discounts in the app. These are time-limited deals on popular items. Browsing them before a trip can help you plan your shopping.

Warehouse map

: The app includes a store map for each Costco location, showing which items are in which aisle. This saves significant time in the large warehouses.

Digital membership card

: Store your Costco membership card in the app. At the entrance, open the app and tap "Membership Card" — the cashier or door attendant scans it from your screen. This means you never need to carry the physical card.

Gas prices

: The app shows current gas prices at Costco gas stations near you, which often run 10 to 20 cents per gallon cheaper than nearby stations.

The app requires a Costco membership ($65/year for Gold Star, $130/year for Executive).
