ParkMobile is a free app that lets you pay for street parking and parking garages using your phone instead of a parking meter or payment kiosk. It is accepted at thousands of locations across the US, including cities like Washington DC, Atlanta, Chicago, and hundreds of others.
When you arrive at a ParkMobile zone, you enter the zone number posted on the parking sign, select how long you need, and pay from the app. If you need more time while you are away from your car, you can extend your parking right from your phone — no running back to the meter.
The app also sends you a reminder when your parking time is about to expire, giving you a chance to extend before getting a ticket.
ParkMobile charges your credit or debit card automatically. There is no need to carry exact change or find a working meter. The app keeps a history of your parking sessions for expense tracking.
ParkMobile is free to download. You pay your normal parking rate plus a small convenience fee (usually $0.35–$0.45 per transaction). Some cities absorb the fee; others pass it to the driver.
The app works on iPhone and Android. You can also pay at parkmobile.io on a computer.
