Planta is a free app (with optional paid features) that acts like a personal plant care assistant. You tell it which plants you own. And it builds a customized care schedule for each one — including when to water, mist, fertilize, and repot. The app uses your local weather and light conditions to adjust those recommendations automatically.
For anyone who has ever lost a houseplant because they forgot to water it — or watered it too much — Planta takes away the guesswork. You do not need any gardening experience to use it. The app explains every task in plain language and tells you exactly what to do and why.
When you open Planta, you can search for your plant by name, upload a photo to identify it, or browse a library of more than 10,000 species. Once added, each plant gets its own profile showing its health history, upcoming tasks, and care tips specific to that species.
The free version covers watering and light reminders for most common houseplants. The paid "Plus" subscription unlocks a plant doctor feature for diagnosing problems from a photo, expert advice, and more detailed care guides. Many users find the free version enough for everyday plant keeping.
Planta is available on iPhone (App Store) and Android (Google Play). The app from Strömming AB has been downloaded more than 10 million times and has strong reviews for accuracy and ease of use. You can learn more at getplanta.com.
