Use the built-in scanner on iPhone

Open the Notes app and create a new note. Tap the camera icon above the keyboard, then tap "Scan Documents." Hold your phone over the document and it will automatically detect and capture it.

Use Google Drive to scan on Android

Open the Google Drive app and tap the "+" button. Tap "Scan." Hold your phone over the document and tap the shutter button. Google Drive will create a PDF automatically.

Position the document well

Lay the document flat on a dark-colored surface for contrast. Make sure all four corners are visible on screen. Good lighting helps — natural daylight or a bright room lamp gives the best results.

Adjust and crop if needed

After scanning, most apps let you drag the corner handles to straighten or crop the image. Tap "Retake" if the scan came out blurry or crooked.

Save and share the PDF

Tap "Save" or "Done" to save the scan as a PDF. You can then email it, upload it to a website, or share it directly from your phone using the share button.
