    How to Set Up a Google Chromecast

    Learn how to set up your Chromecast and send shows from your phone to your TV.

    Plug in the Chromecast

    Connect the Chromecast to an HDMI port on your TV. Plug the USB power cable into the Chromecast and the other end into a wall outlet using the included adapter.

    Download the Google Home app

    On your phone or tablet, open the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android) and download the free Google Home app.

    Make sure your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network you want to use with the Chromecast.

    Set up in the Google Home app

    Open the Google Home app. Tap the + button, then "Set up device," then "New device." The app will find your Chromecast. Follow the on-screen steps to connect it to your Wi-Fi.

    Cast from your phone to the TV

    Open any streaming app on your phone (like YouTube or Netflix). Tap the Cast button — it looks like a little TV screen with Wi-Fi waves in the corner. Choose your Chromecast from the list. The video will play on your TV.
