How to Connect Your Smart TV to Wi-Fi

Get your smart TV online so you can stream shows, movies, and more.

    1

    Open your TV settings

    ~15s
Press the Settings or Menu button on your TV remote. Look for a gear icon on the screen. This opens the TV settings menu.
    2

Find the network or Wi-Fi section

    ~15s
In Settings, look for a section called Network, Internet, or Wi-Fi. Select it to see available wireless networks.
    3

    Choose your Wi-Fi network

    ~18s
You will see a list of nearby Wi-Fi networks. Find your home network name and select it. If you are not sure which one is yours, check the sticker on the bottom of your router.

    Quick Tip

Your Wi-Fi network name is sometimes called an SSID. It is usually printed on a label on your internet router.

    4

    Enter your Wi-Fi password

    ~15s
Type your Wi-Fi password using the on-screen keyboard. Be careful with uppercase and lowercase letters — the password is case-sensitive. Press Connect or OK when done.

    Warning

Wi-Fi passwords are case-sensitive. Make sure Caps Lock is not on, and double-check each letter.

    5

    Confirm you are connected

    ~15s
Your TV should show a message saying you are connected. Some TVs show a Wi-Fi icon in the corner of the screen. You can now open streaming apps and start watching.
