Adding an email account to your Android phone means you can check your inbox, reply to messages, and send new emails right from your phone — without opening a web browser. Android phones come with the Gmail app already installed, and it handles not just Gmail but also Yahoo Mail, Outlook, AOL, and most other email providers.
If you have a Gmail address, the Gmail app is already set up from the moment you sign into your Google account on the phone. But if you want to add a second email address — say, a Yahoo account or a work email — you just need to add it in settings.
For email services like Yahoo Mail, Outlook.com (Hotmail), or iCloud, the Gmail app will handle the connection automatically once you enter your email address and password. For workplace emails that use a private server, your IT department may need to give you server settings.
Once an account is added, you will see all your email inboxes either combined into one view or separated by account — you can switch between them with a tap. Notifications appear on your phone when new emails arrive, so you never miss an important message.
